Comparison Car Rental Websites

The World Wide Web, or internet, is by far the most revolutionary invention mankind has come up with. There is an unlimited amount of information available to us with just a few key strokes. Car hire is included in this. We can now compare rates from the major car hire companies instantly. The good thing about this is that the companies are aware that clients can check. This keeps them more competitive and we reap the benefits with cheaper car hire.

With the internet however it does reduce our power to bargain with the companies as they already have the cheaper rates on the website. So the bargaining is already done and it doesn’t matter if you have a provider you prefer. You can still use the internet to get the best price from that branch, if it is more convenient. Whatever the reason, this extra information is good for us.

You can now find the best deals on car hire where ever you are in the world by using a comparison site. No need to spend your valuable time looking for local car operators numbers and spending hours on the phone talking sometimes to someone who may not speak your language. A comparison site will use software that taps into the National Companies live systems and will display the available cars and prices for you to choose from. Bottom line is that you will save money and time.

These comparison sites are ever evolving, working to make the process of booking car hire as streamlined as possible. The site will be easy to navigate providing all the information you need to complete the booking as well as offer you the ability to select any optional extras that may be required during your car rental. These may include Satellite Navigation (GPS), baby seats, additional driver and excess reduction, reducing your liability in the event of any accident. All the information is available at your fingertips, so be sure to read the Terms and Conditions applicable to the car you are planning to hire.

The global economic climate has not stopped travelers from taking their scheduled holidays. Some travelers are shortening the holiday, but overall with the airlines competing with cheap airfares people are still moving around and enjoying travel. You may find car hire rates a little cheaper due to competition and by far the best place to shop is on line for the best deals. Book early for car hire. Don’t expect to show up at a popular airport and get a bargain. You’re there, you need a car, they have the car and you will need to have the money and drivers license. So it will not be cheap. Book well before leaving home and have your confirmation with you on arrival. Remember if you are traveling during peak seasons, you will pay more for car hire, and everything else for that matter. See you somewhere in the great outdoors. Save travels everyone!

Age Appropriate and Attractive Ideas For Aging Gracefully

Maturity is a badge of honor to be respected with good taste. There simply comes a time when all the extra bling and fabulousness of fashion, hair and makeup is best toned down. When you were a younger Alluring, Innovative or Dramatic woman, those items of “look at me, I’m au currant” stood for something. Status, hipness, a woman in the moment who’s up on the trend. But wisdom carries with it a confidence and sophistication that allows you to do less and achieve more. A maturing face and figure carries a patina of wisdom. A statement in and of itself, it doesn’t require bright lips, over the top earrings or a crazy hip belt to bring it forward. It stands there, gently making its own beautiful statement. Less is simply more as we age. To accentuate your second act best:

o    Avoid drawing attention to your mouth with bright or dark lips.
o    Avoid drawing attention to aging eyelids with frosted shadow.
o    Avoid drawing attention to aging hands with bright nail polish and/or a multitude of attention-grabbing rings.
o    Draw the eye to your face with neckline interest and earrings.
o    When in doubt leave it out.

The Importance of Being Current

Keeping current is undoubtedly a constant and not inexpensive challenge. With all the technology with which we are bombarded, however, we still have the old standby; the monthly magazine. Magazine subscriptions are one of the most effective ways of getting information you can absorb on your downtime. The whole experience of sitting down with and perusing a magazine that inspires is a ritual that endures. Magazines are the great equalizer. No matter where you live in the country you have the same access to fashion, fitness and beauty that the most upscale, in-the-know New York socialite has, because she gets her “W” magazine the same time you do. When “O” comes out, you’re right there with all of Oprah’s associates on the hottest, latest and most suitable fashion, food, fun and inspiration you need that month. You just go to your mailbox, Oprah is waiting for you, and it’s your turn to dream.

What Were We Thinking?

We’ve all done it. Looked back at those embarrassing fashion photos and wondered, “What was I thinking?” I look back at my pinstriped jeans, permed hair and parachute pants and think “Hmmmm.” The more extreme trend, the more risk of later embarrassment. We may forgive the young. But it’s not so easy to forgive a second actor in a leather mini.

A woman in Act Two need never wear:

1.     A micro mini
2.     Combat boots with formal wear
3.     White hose
4.     Frosted eye shadow
5.     Chunky platforms
6.     Dark brown lipstick
7.     Butterfly barrettes
8.     Extreme low-rise jeans
9.     Visible underwear
10.   A spiral perm

What’s Age Appropriate Now?

In our Second Act it becomes difficult to find the balance between matronly and modern. Looking current and youthful should not translate into “mutton dressed as lamb.” I met a woman recently whose long, blonde, permed hair was pulled up on one side and suspended with a comb. For height she created gravity defying bangs with a curling iron and “Spritz Forte.” She wore a fitted navy knit tank, tight tapered pale denim jeans and a crocheted sparkly baby blue shawl tied around her hips. She was 48.

I liked her and enjoyed hearing her tales of woe in raising teenagers. But as I listened I was continually distracted by her image. It just wasn’t working in her favor. The reason it didn’t work was because it was expressing only a part of this woman. I obviously knew who she had been, but as she talked, the more interesting experienced and attractive parts were hidden behind a façade of fear of aging. Yes, she was attractive and sexy but she was also a 48-year-old single mother of teenagers who had quite a bit of sun damage, an advancing derriere, tan lines across her back and thinning hair. The look did not make her look younger; it made her look vulnerable and insecure. Our image must reflect who we’ve become, not who we were. That is age appropriate.

Why to Buy Electronic Cigarettes?

The easiest way to by electronic cigarettes is online. Just visit an ecigs online store and check out different ecig brands, ecigs styles and accessories and make a quick purchase. Ecigs are available in varying styles such as mini, pen style, cigar, pipe and much more. Anyone new to using ecigs, start out with a disposable type or a starter pack. The disposable type is only for one time usage and is usually a single device that’s large and a bit on the heavy side. E-cigarette starter packs on the other hand include all necessary items such as atomizer, rechargeable batteries, carry case, wall charger and cartridges.

Those looking to quit smoking will find e-cigarettes the best alternative because it is a far more effective product than other quit smoking products. Taking a drag on an ecig is an experience on its own because you can pull as long as you want and inhale a big puff of vapor that’s really addicting.

Ecigs give the same sensation as that of smoking a traditional cigarette. They look just like normal cigarettes, feel just like them and are definitely a healthier alternative because they do not have any tar or tobacco. They do not pollute the air around you and can be used in places where smoking is banned because ecigs vapor is just white smoke that does not have any pollutants.

Another reason to buy e-cigarettes is that the nicotine or flavor cartridges last for a long time. One cartridge is equivalent to a carton of cigarettes and you can use them for essentially such a long time, without having to go to a store. E-cigarettes cost a fraction of what a normal cigarette costs.

There are many e-cigarettes brands and the difference lies in the device structure and available flavors. Some brands offer a three-piece device and others a two-piece one, which is easier to use. Top e-cigarettes brands include Green Smoke’, Smoke Stik’, Blu Electronic’, Volcano E-Cigarettes’, USA Cig’, eSmoke Freedom’, and CigartiTM’, and The Safe Cig’.

E-cigarettes users have reported a definite change in their habit after using them because of the way they work and the smoking satisfaction that they provide. Many report that they do not take up a traditional cigarette afterwards. The device is easy-to-use and cheaper than traditional cigarettes that can cost an average smoke more than $2000 annually.

Tips To Get Approved For a Payday Loan

Payday loans are quite different from all other type of loans in financial market. The main difference is their approval process. The lender will not check your credit score or request your credit report from all 3 major credit reporting bureaus. They do not look into your outgoing and incoming bank payments or inspect your credit status. Although these loan companies definitely have lower requirements for approval that does not necessarily mean that they do not perform any other checks on their clients.

When trying to apply for a payday loan, lender will most likely check your work status, checking account standing and a bunch of other stuff. Growing consumer interests and demands for payday loans has created an opportunity for scammers to take advantage of. Every year hundreds of loan companies that scammed their clients have been exposed by local and even federal authorities. Loan companies that claim they do not perform any checks on their clients should be avoided at all costs. Make sure you do not pay company any startup fees before receiving your loan, as this is the most popular method among scam companies.

Before applying for a payday loan, you must fully understand what these loans are and what they should be used for. You should strictly use this money if an emergency financial situation arises and you need to tide yourself over until you receive a paycheck. Because of short repayment terms, you will be required to have a legit source of income and a valid SSN. A person is required to be over 18 years old in order to receive a short term loan. Make sure your checking account is in a good standing and do not try to sign up for multiple loans, even at different locations. Multiple loan requests are easily tracked and can result in a full denial for all your applications.

In order to get approved, you will need to have a legit job, where you have worked for at least 3 months. There is also a minimum salary requirement – usually it is around $800 per month after all taxes are paid. Your checking account must not have any overdrafts or hold a negative balance. When dealing with local payday loans, do not forget to take your banking information with you, especially your routing number, because it will be required to deposit money to you.

When you are applying for a loan, make sure all the information you fill in is correct. Being truthful with your lender is probably the most important factor to get approved for a loan. Even if your current situation has put you in a position when you cannot fully meet approval requirements, always tell your lender everything as it is. Do not worry about your private information, as payday loans are known for their confidentiality when it comes to their client’s information. Apply these basic tips and you will be surprised about how easy it is to get approved for a payday loan!

Which Is More Cost-Effective, Cabs or Car Rentals?

Rent it or cab it?

People like the freedom of having their own vehicle to drive about in, at home or when they travel, and the tendency is to book a rental car when you are away. But freedom comes with a price and it depends where your travel destination is as to whether you’re best to rent a car or take a taxi.

Cheap ground transportation depends upon location, accessibility and extraneous expense factors, like gasoline costs and parking fees. Add to that the potential complexity of finding your way around a strange city, especially a large one, and you might change your mind about what freedom means.

A trip to, for example, New York City or Montreal, two North American cities with decent public transit systems, plenty of cabs, walkable areas in their cores, and very high parking fees, and you’ll realize that a taxi will almost inevitably surface as the cheapest mode of getting around.

But what if you want a day trip to the Laurentian Mountains or the antiques stores of Hudson? That’s the day to rent a car, or to find out if there is a luxury coach service to those destinations that returns the same day.

Car rentals are convenient, to be sure, but the costs add up quickly (don’t forget insurance and occasional peak-season added fees), unless your airline points cover all or most of the cost; even then, in large cities gasoline and parking is very costly, and that is not usually included in credit card or airline rewards perquisites.

When does a rental car make sense? If you live in North America (and can’t drive across the Atlantic Ocean!) and are vacationing in Italy, for example, landing in Rome and taking a motorcar tour of Tuscany and other regions from there, your only other viable option is the train. Like anywhere else, gasoline in Europe is expensive, but you can’t take a full driving holiday in a taxi. But don’t forget, there are guided tours and some taxi drivers will gladly spend a day with you, exploring San Gimignano; they are often the best tour guides, full of information about their homeland. And driving in other countries can be a harrowing experience, especially if it involves driving on the opposite side of the road than you are accustomed to!

Plan your itinerary, do an accurate cost comparison and decide whether a taxi or car rental, or combination of the two, is the cheapest way to get around when you reach your destination. And don’t forget to ensure that your driver’s license is current, and if you need to, get an international license before you set off for your trip. Happy motoring!

There Are Many Reasons Car Rentals Offer Cheap Rental Cars and You Should Be Aware of Such Reasons

The most obvious reason why you can get a cheap car rental is when the renting outfit is giving vacation discounts on certain months or seasons of the year. This is a matter of routine that they have to do to remain competitive in their market. Although vacation times are the times when people love to go on holiday trips, they will usually rent from companies with discounted rates.

Other companies apply discounts to their prices for certain special and tourist-attractive destinations. These discounts are seasonal such as if you were to attend the Mardi Gras in New Orleans. These types of discounts you have to avail of early on, perhaps a few weeks before the festivities start. The reason is that there will most often be a last-minute rush to the site just before the fun begins and at that time and usually all promos and packages are suspended. This is perhaps due to the fact that the rental companies may run out of their own vehicles to rent out and will have to borrow from those who have any available and leave off on giving discounts for the borrowed cars.

Alternatively, other discounts are given for the sake of boosting their rentals during the slower months of the year or for destinations that are not very popular.

What is obvious is that you shouldn’t have a difficult time getting a cheap rental car for your outing because car rentals are dying to give you discounts just to keep the money rolling in. They even furnish large companies with discount cards which can be distributed to the employees. So you better check with management, if you are working in a big establishment, about cheap rental car discounts from the better known rental companies.

Because the condition of the car you are renting is determined to a great degree by the age of the car itself, a regular renter should know how to determine the age of the car by looking at its plate number. The formula for doing this is available on the internet and it may be different from one country to another and even from one state to the next. So when you research for ‘how to tell the car’s age from the number’ you should select the rules for the locality you are in.

You should be aware that there are also cheap rental car scams. In this situation you may be getting a car which is poorly conditioned or just plain too old to be road-worthy. Besides the car’s age, a look at the mileage indicator of the car will tell you how much use the motor of that car has seen. Along the same line of good car condition, you should be aware that although you can get cheap rental cars at smaller rental outfits if you need to use it for a long time, there is a catch to this. Smaller outfits will not have that many personnel and if you were expecting them to provide back up for you during an emergency, you may get an unpleasant surprise when you find you have to dish out your own money to have the rented car repaired.

Four Major Functions Provided by a Real Estate Agent That You Can Do Yourself

Selling a home entails four major functions that are usually performed by a real estate agent. If we take the mystery out of those functions, they start looking as if we can do them without an agent. And you can!

1. Pricing your property

The first thing that an agent will do for you is help price your property. You don’t want to offer your home for sale at double its market value because it just won’t sell. Likewise, you don’t want to offer your home for sale at half its market value because you would just be cheating yourself of that price difference. If the market is such that your house in your neighborhood in your city is worth about $200,000 then you want to sell it for that. If you have made additions to the house that might make it worth more, then you want to add those items to it. The real estate agent has a lot of that data at their fingertips through their subscriptions and through their knowledge of the marketplace.

You can do this pricing yourself as long as you don’t let your ego get the better of common sense. You can find out what homes are selling for by cruising your neighborhood and checking out homes for sale to see what they are priced at. You can check to see what they sold for by visiting your tax authorities. Most municipalities and counties require that all deed transfers be recorded as a matter of public record. You can access that data through the internet if your municipality offers it, or you can go look it up in person where the internet is not used. Just make sure you are pricing your 3 bedroom 2 bath house with other 3 bedroom 2 bath houses rather than a 2 bedroom or 5 bedroom house.

2. Marketing your property

Marketing real estate is a sort of catch-all word for advertising the home as being for sale and then showing the property to prospective buyers through appointments or open-houses. The most important and probably most costly marketing activity is advertising the house. There is one real estate agent around here that states in their commercials that they spend between $1,000 and $1,500 per HOUSE while claiming that many agents only spend less than $500 per month for all of the houses that they list.

You can perform all 3 of these marketing functions. Who would be better to show a home or to have an open-house than the resident of the home — just do not let your ego get in the way and react defensively to reasonable buying questions. The advertising should be fairly simple as well. You are just as qualified to create want-ads for your local and regional papers and classified magazines as long as you model your ads after the ones that you will be competing for attention with. There are some advertising sites that require that all of their advertisers be real estate agents. You might try circumventing that restriction by offering a real estate agent a small fee to list your property on those restricted sites. The worse they can do is say “No” and a different agent might be more cooperative.

3. Contract exchange and negotiation.

Real estate agents act as intermediaries between the seller and the buyer. They take a contract proposal from the prospective buyer or their agent and present it to the seller. This goes on with price changes or with feature additions and removals until both the seller and the buyer agree on the selling price and property conditions.

There should be no question that you can do this yourself as the seller. After all, the agent would have to come to you anyway to get your approval and signature. Once again, this is where you need to put your ego and pride to the side. At this stage, all of your advertising and pricing work has come to fruition and you have a buyer negotiating with you. The worse thing you could do is to react defensively. You just participate in a give and take during the process as if it were for someone else.

4. Preparing the final paperwork and closing the sale

The real estate agent is usually the one to give all of the closing information to the title company and lawyers so that the deed to the property can be transferred from the seller to the buyer with no problems. This is when checks are transferred and mortgages paid off. It is also when the commission check is given to the real estate broker for dispersal to his agent.

You can do these things also. You are the one that has handled the paperwork up to now. You are the one that is ready for your mortgage to be paid off. You are the one ready to receive a check for the difference between what you owe on the mortgage and the selling price of the house. Most of this information is put on the HUD-1 form by the title company. In fact the major role of the agent here is to hold your hand and collect the commission check. Again, these tasks can be handled with a minimum of activity on your part. Any legal requirements can be farmed out to a lawyer for a much smaller fee than the agent’s commission.

Pricing, marketing, negotiating, and closing are all functions that are required to sell a property. They are all tasks normally handled by a real estate agent. They are also tasks that you can do yourself at a cost far less than 5% of the selling price of your house.

High Cost of Healthcare Induced By Contradictory Goals of Providers and Payers

Healthcare has been the topic of debate for most of the last few years. From the boardroom to the water cooler, costs and quality of care are hot topics that impact everyone in this country. Young and old, Americans are feeling the squeeze and most are finding it difficult to come up with solutions. In the boardrooms of corporations both large and small, employers are struggling to cope with reality of rising premiums and declining benefits. Meanwhile employees are left with the prospect of going without health insurance. Currently it is estimated that 50 to 60 million adults in this country are walking the tightrope of living without health insurance. With such widespread reach for ripples created by this healthcare debacle, everyone is looking for answers. How can we afford coverage? Can we go without? What can be done to curb the costs and get this problem under control?

In the workplace, employers and employees often feel as if they’re on opposite sides of the fence. Employers feel as if their subordinates take no consideration of how difficult it can be to turn a profit while facing spiraling costs and a difficult economic environment. While large corporations may be able to ride out the storm, small businesses rarely have this luxury (especially at a time when credit is difficult to obtain). Most small businesses would close their doors if the balance sheet goes in the red for more than a few months or quarters. On the other hand, employees often adopt a near-sighted approach. How could they expect me to afford a premium increase? Should I just try to float without insurance for a while? These questions often lead to resentment on both sides of the coin, but are the employers or employees to take the blame and the higher cost?

Looking for answers to this growing problem is not easy. Where did the system go wrong? Why is it so expensive? Who’s to blame?

Many people blame healthcare providers for the rising costs of quality care. I can assure you this is not the case. Providers are facing a myriad of challenges and roadblocks. More so than ever, running a profitable medical practice is daunting task. Like any other business, a medical practice will close if it can not cover expenses and afford to pay salaries. Labor and leasing expenses are only the tip of the iceberg. Practitioners are forced to pay for equipment, insurance, hardware, software, licensing, and more. After establishing an office with all the appropriate resources, medical practices and hospitals must then attract patients in a very competitive marketplace.

Yet with all these costs and challenges in their way, healthcare providers are not complaining about patients or labor or costs! The largest problem facing healthcare providers is the insurance reimbursement process. Contradictory goals of payers and providers are resulting in inefficient and difficult payment systems. Insurance companies are more concerned with bottom-line profits and shareholders than they are about the care their members receive. How can we expect doctors and healthcare providers to keep their offices open if they can hardly get paid for the services they perform? Individuals believe that because they pay premiums, the insurance company will pay their doctor. Unfortunately, this is hardly the case. Health insurance claim denial rates can reach as high as 25% or more. Many providers have outstanding receivables measured in the millions of dollars. The insurance reimbursement process is so arduous that many medical practices never get paid and as a result close their doors forever.

Insurance companies use a wide variety of tactics to delay payments and deny claims. Payers employ hoards of representatives charged with the task of fielding calls and scrutinizing claims. Due to these tactics, insurance claims take anywhere from 30 days to more than 1 year to reach a completed status. In most cases claims are delayed and denied due to inconsequential, irrelevant errors. These errors result solely from the many difficult and senseless hoops that are placed in the way of the provider’s billing representatives. This extremely labor intensive process of collecting from insurance companies costs providers a great deal of time and money.

The only beneficiaries of this process are the shareholders of insurance companies. The delays in payments result in interest earned for the time period in which the claim was delayed. In many cases, providers never receive reimbursement for the services they perform. These claims must be written-off as a loss by providers while insurance companies see these cases as victories leaving more cash on their balance sheets. It appears that the primary goal of insurance companies may be to deny as many claims as possible; after all they answer to shareholders not providers or individual policy holders. This gross abuse of power by insurance companies may be the biggest problem we face in the healthcare sector.

The days when doctors sat on golf courses all day while making millions per year are over. Now they must battle insurance companies tooth and nail for every claim. If insurance companies paid doctors for the services they perform, perhaps we would see a reduction in costs related to providing care.

Surely there is no easy fix to this problem. We may find the answers by addressing the goals of big insurance companies. Providing oversight and incentives for paying healthcare providers for the services they perform would be a good start. If insurance companies focus on weeding out fraud rather than just delaying and denying payments, we could see an increase in efficiency and productivity in the healthcare sector that could be the start of controlling costs while maintaining a high standard of care. For the sake of all Americans, hopefully we find an answer soon!

The Uses and Types of Industrial Gears

Gear, by a very basic definition is the machinery or device in a vehicle that regulates the power of its engine. However, the modern and sophisticated industrial gears have surpassed the conventional gears, both in application and scope. Today, the gears are used in a multitude of applications in numerous sectors. Some of the industries in which the contemporary gears are used include aviation, cement, defense, fertilizer, food-processing, medical, railway, steel, to name a few. Given below are some most prominent and useful types of industrial gears:

1) Bevel Gears: In these conical shaped gears the teeth perfectly mesh together. These gears are useful when there is a change required in the direction of the shaft’s rotation. These gears can be used in different number of teeth to increase or decrease the rotational speed. Although these gears are generally installed on shafts at a 90¡ angle, they can work well at other angles as well. These gears are also considered very beneficial as they allow adjustments during the assembly stage.

2) Differential Gears: This gear is very commonly used in the automobiles. It links two separate shafts with a covering and tune the total rotational angles of the shafts to that of the covering. These gears are designed in such a manner that when the differential side gear is meshed with the other gear then it produces a high torque, which is transmitted to the axle shaft. There is a set of coaxial gears present in the differential gears. This set includes pinions and turntable.

3) Girth Gears: These gears are used in numerous industrial applications. They are unique in the way that unlike other gears, they are made in multiple segments which can be of two, four, or eight equal sizes. Some benefits that one might get by choosing these gears are their low initial cost, ease of installation, simple operation, to name a few. Their most popular standards include AGMA 321.05, AGMA 6004 F88, and ISO 6336. These are also known as split ring gears.

4) Helical Gears: These are also one of the well-known types of industrial gears. The involute teeth of these gears mesh at an angle to create optimum thrust load. The name helical is due to their teeth, which are curved along a helical path or resemble a helix. Their advanced design enables a smooth operation of these gears. Not only this, they can comfortably carry heavy loads due to the enhanced surface contact with teeth.

5) Spur Gears: Although these gears are simple in operation, they are used in a multitude of industrial and non-industrial applications. They are often found in cylindrical or disk shapes. These gears are used for the purpose of making variations in the force and speed of rotating axles. They possess straight teeth and are usually installed on parallel shafts. They can be used either separately or in a combination of two or more spur gears, depending upon the scope and nature of the application.

Besides the types of gears mentioned above, there are a lot of other gears and gearing equipment available at present. If you are seeking comprehensive and reliable information on these advanced equipment, you should visit Gears Manufacturers Marketplace.

Shopping For the Latest Trends

Shopping is one thing almost every girl loves. The thrill of the smell of new clothes on the rack and the latest trend in America with all the teenagers. Some girls love the smell of new shoes, new scarfs, new pants, new shirts, and yes new underwear and when the moment come to try stuff on to see how you will look in an outfit for the first day of school, work, or just plain ole soccer practice. When people go shopping they first try and find a basket to put all of their back-to-school apparel in. When a poor family goes to go shopping it feels weird to them because they want the latest trend and all of the latest fashions but they know they can not afford it so they wind up getting the hand me downs from the rich cousin three times re-married four times removed.

When I see an under privileged family on the streets with not much it makes me want to have all of the money in the world so I can take them on a shopping spree and buy them whatever they want. I would make their day and ask for nothing in return, I know the feeling of wanting something would be there but when you get to heaven and see Jesus it is all worth it. The biggest thing I would ask for would be a big hug from the family and that would be it. So many other people would ask for so much more even though the family does not have much.
